About Mustafa Hamed Abu Walid al-Masri
Born in Egypt in 1945, eastern province, in Bilbeis city.
He graduated from Alexandria University Faculty of Engineering in 1969
Worked in the press during the seventies, in a number of civil newspapers in Abu Dhabi.
Wrote in Afghan jihad and participated in it since 1979 before the Soviet invasion.
In the year 1985 he lived with his family in Pakistan and worked there as a correspondent in Al-Ettehad newspaper until 1986
Lived in Afghanistan since 1993 and was there till the American invasion in the year 2001.
Was closely acquainted with a number of important arab figures who worked on the Afghan issue, such as Dr Abdullah Azzam, Tamim Adnani and Osama bin Laden who considers him as a personal friend.
Has a set of books that is none of them is published and revolves around the Arab’s experience on Jihad of Afganistan, which he lived it from the start till end.
Closely acquainted with the Taliban movement and their leader Mullah Mohammad Omar, and tied friendly relations with them.
From Kandahar he worked as a reporter for Al-Jazeera TV channel for a year till the American invasion Afghanistan.
